Nangka sits at Marikina's northern edge, and its independent coffee shops cluster mostly along the long stretch of J.P. Rizal Street that runs through the barangay, along with the newer residential pockets set back from it. It is a lower-density coffee scene than San Roque or Concepcion, but a genuine one, with three active independent shops currently in our directory.
Lay-By Coffee sits directly on J.P. Rizal Street and has built a reputation with cyclists passing through, reviewers describe it as a laid-back stop with friendly, fast service. Further along the same street, Cafe Leonor pairs coffee with a full restaurant menu, built around family celebrations rather than a quick-stop format.
Set back in the Greenheights Phase 3 subdivision, Bizco Café takes a different approach entirely, leaning into silog breakfast meals alongside coffee, smoothies, pastries and burgers, more neighbourhood all-day eatery than specialty coffee bar. If you are coming from the north via Nangka's residential subdivisions rather than the main road, this is the more convenient stop of the three.
Nangka is also home to Cocol Coffee and Tea's Nangka branch, though that shop does not appear as active in our directory, it operates enough branches across Marikina and neighboring San Mateo, Rizal that it falls outside our one-to-two-location rule for independent listings, covered in our full directory guide.
If you are cycling or driving through Nangka along the river-adjacent roads, pairing a stop here with the Marikina River Park further south is a reasonable route, covered in our river park coffee guide, and if you know a shop we are missing in this barangay, submissions are always open through our shop submission FAQ. Frecelynne's Marikina cafe guide is another useful cross-check for the northern barangays.
